The show, which has been a year’s work for writer and lead actor Daniel Quirke and his team, will be released online every Sunday at 7pm for six weeks.

Quirkology is set in St Albans and the surrounding areas of Hertfordshire and tells the coming-of-age story of an awkward teenager, Rupert.

Series two will see Rupert found working in a call centre, navigating his way through office life as part of an eight strong team.

Series 1 was viewed 26,000 times, and was an official selection of the Raindance WebFest. The show has received worldwide popularity, with viewers watching from Australia, India and USA.

Daniel, director Jonathan Davenport and director of photography Carl Yates all have full time jobs so finding time to film Quirkology has proved challenging, but Daniel said they are happy to give up their time to work so hard on the show because they love it.

With no funding for their project, the three filmmakers set up an online fundraising page to complete the project.

When Daniel’s father passed away during the broadcast of the first series, he decided to honour his memory by using money left to him to make the second series even bigger and better.

“I could not think of a better way to spend the money, and I hope my father would have been proud with this project.”

Series 1 filmed on a small budget, Daniel and his team have been pleased to be able to film series 2 in new and varied locations all over Hertfordshire. The cast and crew members have increased from 15 in series 1 to 45 in series 2.

The Quirkology teamhas no current plans beyond series 2, with Daniel suggesting the team need to take a break from the series because it is such a demanding project.
