POLICE have released CCTV images of a man and woman they want to speak to in relation to the theft of a handbag at a car boot sale.

A woman at the event at St Albans Rugby and Football Club, Oaklands Lane, Smallford, on Saturday, May 14, purchased a stool from one of the stands and had her handbag on her shoulder, but when she returned to her car she realised that it had gone.

Tesco vouchers in the handbag, which was stolen between 11am and 11.30am, were later used at the Hatfield store by a man and a woman.

Pc Andrew Shepherd, investigating, said: “We are really keen to speak to the man and woman in the footage or for anyone who recognises them to get in touch. We would also ask if anyone knows anything about the incident to contact us.”

Anyone with information should call Pc Shepherd via the non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222 or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
