The police share of next year’s council tax looks set to be frozen for the fourth year in succession.
The police precept accounts for 10 per cent of total council tax bills and commissioner David Lloyd believes that it can be frozen while allowing for investment in new areas of policing.
He made a statement after the total grant settlement for Herts from central government was announced as £117.9 million.
Commissioner Lloyd added: “For some forces across the country the loss of money announced through this grant settlement could have an impact on viability in the short term; however this will not be the case in Herts.”
