Police investigate sexual assault in St Albans nightclub

A 19-YEAR-old woman is believed to have been sexually assaulted in the grounds of Batchwood Hall nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning. Detectives from the sexual offences investigation team (SOIT) are investigating the allegation. Det Con Gord

A 19-YEAR-old woman is believed to have been sexually assaulted in the grounds of Batchwood Hall nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Detectives from the sexual offences investigation team (SOIT) are investigating the allegation.

Det Con Gordon King said: "We are trying to piece together exactly what happened in the grounds of Batchwood Hall nightclub on Friday night into Saturday morning."

He asked anyone who was at the club and saw anything suspicious in the grounds during the early hours of the morning or men acting suspiciously in the area to contact police on 01727 796050 or 0845 33 00 222,

DC King added: "We are working closely with Batchwood Hall nightclub as this is a very unusual and isolated incident. It appears that the woman became separated from her friends during the evening and it is unclear what happened afterwards.
