JEWELLERY worth a substantial sum of money has been stolen from a house in St Albans.
Police believe the theft which occurred between 4pm and 6pm on Saturday, February 23, at a property in Marshalswick Lane could be linked to a similar incident in the same road on the same weekend.
About two doze items were taken in the first break-in including a sapphire and diamond cluster ring, a seven-stone diamond ring, a Rolex watch, a sapphire set of earrings, 20 solid gold Iranian coins and cash.
Overnight on the same Saturday, another property in Marshalswick Lane was unsuccessfully broken into and the thieves left empty-handed.
Investigating officer, Pc Neil Sutton, wants to speak to anyone who saw or knows anything about either incident and could help with inquiries. He added: "I would also ask if anyone has come in contact with the jewellery or has seen any of the pieces to come forward as well."
He can be contacted on 0845 3300 222 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
