POLICE are on the lookout for a missing microscope stolen from a shop in St Albans around two weeks ago.

The incident occurred at around 4.30pm on Friday, November 21 at Herts Optical Service on Victoria Street. A man dressed in dark clothing and a hooded top barged into the store, grabbed the microscope and ran away. The item taken - a M40 model, 18 inches tall and mostly black with one eye piece missing - is worth several hundred pounds.

PC Clare Moy from the St Albans Neighbourhood team is investigating and said: "This is a very unusual piece of scientific equipment and should be easily recognisable if anyone sees it. If anyone has any information about the theft of this microscope or its whereabouts, please contact me on the non-emergency number 0845 3300222.
