A HIGH-speed car chase involving a police helicopter resulted in a couple being arrested after a £20,000 raid. Police were alerted to the theft at Praktica UK Limited when the alarm went off at the premises in North Orbital Commercial Park, St Albans, at 9.20pm on Monday. CCTV footage showed four men in dark clothing had gone to the industrial estate in a white Transit van and stolen about £20,000 worth of Praktica cameras. When police arrived at the scene they found one of the men being driven away in a car by a woman. Police took up the chase and using the helicopter kept track of the vehicle. The pair were arrested on the A13 in Essex later that night on suspicion of burglary. A 32-year old man and a 33-year old woman - both from London - are being held in police custody. n Some £600,000 worth of Gap children's clothes were stolen from a lorry in Colney Street, St Albans, on January 6 when thieves hitched the trailer to their own cab unit.
