Herts Police descended en masse to a St Albans pub last night, with onlookers reporting around ten cop cars parked outside.
The service said they were sent for after a wedding reception got out of hand, causing the landlord to call for help.
Police arrived on the scene at around 8pm to prevent a breach of the peace.
The group was described as “rowdy” by Herts Police. Eyewitnesses believe there were around 50 people.
However, the police made no arrests and no offences were committed.
They left the premises at around 9pm.
