POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car wing mirror was damaged and a window was smashed following a traffic collision in Wheathampstead.

The incident happened on Ferrers Lane yesterday (Tuesday February 21) at around 5.40pm.

A red Nissan Micra was travelling westbound when it suffered the damage to the wing mirror and the driver’s window was smashed, by a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

Police have said it is unclear at this stage which vehicle caused the damage, but there were two travelling in the opposite direction at the time, thought to be a grey hatchback and a small red hatchback.

Neither vehicle stopped.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact PC Jackie Reynolds from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit on 01438 757108.
