Police appeal following assault in Harpenden

A MAN was taken to hospital with leg injuries following an assault in Harpenden.

The alleged incident is said to have taken place between 1.45am and 2.10am last Wednesday (July 27), on Southdown Road, at the junction with Walkers Road.

A man in his 30s received leg injuries following an altercation and was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital for treatment. He was released later that day.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Jonathan Leak from the St Albans District Local Crime Unit via the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

A 47-year-old man from Harpenden has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until September.
