Police appeal after two women are robbed in the street

TWO women were robbed of jewellery, watches and handbags in Goodyers Avenue, Radlett, yesterday (Wednesday) evening. The robbers struck at 8.25pm outside an address in the road and took the items by force though the victims – one aged 81 and the other 49
TWO women were robbed of jewellery, watches and handbags in Goodyers Avenue, Radlett, yesterday (Wednesday) evening.
The robbers struck at 8.25pm outside an address in the road and took the items by force though the victims - one aged 81 and the other 49 -- were not injured. The assailants also took car keys for a Mercedes-Benz but did not steal the vehicle.
The two robbers then made off in a black car driven by a third gang member.
Both the robbers were described as black. One was aged about 17, around 5ft 5ins tall and broadly built. He was wearing a white or grey hooded top.
The second man was aged about 18 and slimly built, about 5ft 9ins tall and wearing a black hooded top and black trousers and had a beard.
Det Sgt Steve Angell from the local crime unit at Borehamwood and who is investigating the robbery said: "Although incidents of this nature are rare in Herts, this would have been an extremely distressing experience for the victims and we are treating this incident very seriously.
"I am appealing for the public's help in tracing those responsible for this crime and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area, saw the incident take place or may have seen the vehicle, to please come forward. Your calls could really make a difference to our investigation."
