POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a theft at a Harpenden supermarket back in November. Shortly before 9am on Thursday, November 27, a man entered Waitrose on Leyton Road and headed to the drinks section, where he placed a number of spirit bottles and

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a theft at a Harpenden supermarket back in November.

Shortly before 9am on Thursday, November 27, a man entered Waitrose on Leyton Road and headed to the drinks section, where he placed a number of spirit bottles and some cans of lager into his shopping basket.

He then left the store without paying and made off in the direction of Luton in a green Vauxhall Astra Saloon but his image was captured on CCTV camera.

Investigating Officer Pc Emma Collins said: "We are appealing to anyone who may recognise the man or who witnessed the incident to come forward."
