POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a hoodie attacked another man with a stick in St Albans last Friday evening.
The incident took place in Holywell Hill at around 9.30pm when a 42-year-old man was approached from behind by a younger man brandishing a stick.
The victim was assaulted and his attacker ran off in the direction of Sainsbury's supermarket in Everard Close.
He was wearing a black hooded top and light grey jogging bottoms and is described as being of mixed race in his late teens or early 20s.
A man from St Albans has been arrested in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court in May.
Investigating Officer Det Con Andy Boyer asked anyone with information or who might have witnessed the incident to contact him on the non-emergency number 0845 3300222 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
