A WARNING has been issued by police over a scam email which tries to get members of their public to divulge personal and bank details.

The email, which is in circulation in Herts, purports to come from Revenue and Customs claiming that recipients are due a tax refund.

It asks the recipient to fill in an attached form, asking for in-depth personal and bank details including the security code on the back of bank and credit cards.

Community safety officer for Herts Police, Nat Landau, warned people never to divulge such information to any kind of unsolicited source unless they were very confident who they were talking to.

He added: "If you receive any kind of communication like this, delete it immediately from your inbox or throw it in the bin.
