Plans for former Evershed site revealed at St Albans exhibition

AN EXHIBITION showcasing plans to rejuvenate a dilapidated area in St Albans will be held today and tomorrow.

Members of the public are invited to attend the exhibition which will detail the proposed plans for the former Evershed site and the area around London Road.

Plans to breathe life into this area of the city follow almost a year after Tesco, which owns the site, withdrew their application to build a supermarket on the site after meeting vehement opposition from St Albans residents.

Tesco still owns the land and their property developer arm, Spen Hill Developments Ltd, are now managing the London Road Project and are hoping to build around 100 homes as well as regenerate many of the commercial and residential properties in the area.

The exhibition is open to all and will be held at Trinity United Reformed Church, Beaconsfield Road, from 1pm to 8pm Friday and from 12.30pm to 4pm on Saturday.
