A petting farm will return to St Albans over Easter weekend, with visitors able to pet rabbits, tortoises, snakes and more.
The farm will be in Christopher Place on Saturday, April 15, from 11am to 3pm, and will feature giant rabbits, guinea pigs, skunks, tortoises, pygmy hedgehogs, snakes and lizards, as well as other favourites.
Visitors will also be able to meet Blue Cross rescue ponies Flora and Sugar at around midday, and meet the Easter bunnies.
Centre manager Catherine Morris said: “The petting farm is a perennial favourite with our visitors and this year they are bringing an even wider selection of animals. Like all of our events, there is no charge to see and play with the animals.”
Christopher Place will also have a Butterfly and Bee Conservation event on Saturday, April 22, where visitors will be able to find out how important butterflies and bees are to our ecology.
Local honey from Gorhambury Bees will be available, and there will be stalls from Save Butterfly World, Butterfly Conservation and St Albans Friends of the Earth encouraging visitors to sign up to the 2017 Great British Bee Count.
Christopher Place will also give away free packets of bee and butterfly-friendly wild flower seeds to encourage the growth of new habitats.
