INTERNATIONALLY-renowned make-up artist Peter Camburn popped into Boots in St Albans to give local women a new look and raise money for Grove House at the same time.
The store in St Peter's Street invited Peter, a well-known Elizabeth Arden make-up artist, to another of its popular Make-Up Evenings. He demonstrated latest make-up techniques while guests enjoyed canaps and a glass of bubbly before being given an opportunity to try and to buy the products.
Elizabeth Arden consultant, Wendy Seabrook, who organised the event with the help of Boots staff, said: "These evenings are a great way for our customers to experiment with our lovely range in an informal and relaxed setting. I am delighted that we have been able to support Grove House once again and we are grateful to Boots for matching the amount we raised to bring the total of this year's cheque to 770."
Daniel Morrison, the new store manager at Boots, said that the retailer operated a charity initiative called Making a Difference which matched money raised by staff at particular events.
He added: "I know that this branch has supported Grove House for a number of years and I am delighted that as a national company, we are able to continue to help such a worthwhile local charity."
In the years they have supported Grove House, Boots has raised in the region of 6,000 to help the hospice. Community fundraiser Liz Hizli, said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to Wendy Seabrook for all the work she does in organising events for us and to all the staff who give up their time to get involved.
