A crash victim was taken to hospital with suspected neck and leg injuries after an accident on the M1 yesterday.

Parts of the motorway between junction eight and nine northbound, near to St Albans, were closed after an collision between a blue Honda NT 700 motorbike, a white Vauxhall Corsa van, a red Audi A3 and a red Nissan Pulsar.

Police were called and East of England Ambulance Service sent two ambulances to help the motorbike riders, who suffered slight injuries. One person was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital with neck and leg injuries.

The cars suffered slight damage and the motorbike had to be recovered before the road reopened at 6pm.
