A person suffered serious injuries after being struck by a train on the St Albans City line yesterday.
The 17.10 train from London St Pancras International to Nottingham struck the person at Elstree at around 5.40pm.
Emergency services were called to the scene and it is believed the person is alive but seriously injured.
All lines were closed and tickets were being accepted on the bus.
Lines were re-opened at around 7.15pm, but continued to be disrupted throughout the evening.
