STRUTTING their stuff around town recently were two birds of very fine feather - peacocks to be precise!
Currently residing at Oaklands College's Smallford campus, they have roamed abroad across the main road and over to Homebase in Hatfield Road.
After indulging in a spot of window shopping, they showed off a bit by landing on adjacent roofs until people from the college arrived to tempt them home again with morsels of food.
Tony Hawkins, Head of the Animal Management Department, said: "We have three peacocks - the father and two sons. Sadly, the mum died a few months back but I bought a peahen at the weekend and we are getting two more soon.
"The two boys - like typical teenagers - go AWOL now and again but they always come home eventually for their food. The locals love it when they spot them and take photos and videos of them."
They have a hutch back at the Smallford campus where they are locked in at night but otherwise roam freely in the daytime.
