LADY Verulam has agreed to become the patron of a local domestic violence forum.
She will combine her work as the Lord Lieutenant of Herts with patronage of the St Albans and Hertsmere Domestic Violence Forum.
The forum meets six times a year to discuss ways of tackling domestic violence and ensuring adequate provisions and help for victims of it.
It is an independent organisation and relies on donations from the councils and community safety partnerships to undertake its work.
Lady Verulam, who lives at Gorhambury, said: "I am delighted to be lending my support to this important cause and very much hope that my involvement will help to raise the profile of the work being carried out by the Forum and the sources of help and advice available to victims.
