FIREFIGHTERS battled a house blaze last night in Park Street.
Nobody was hurt in the fire on the first floor of the home on Oliver Close.
Fire crews from St Albans, Garston and Borehamwood were called to the property at 8.50pm, initially believing people were trapped inside but the occupants had escaped unharmed.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
