A WOMAN was taken to hospital on Saturday evening (23) after the car she was travelling in crashed into a van near a Park Street roundabout.

Fire crews had to partially remove the roof of the silver Peugeot 206 following its collision with an orange Ford Transit on the A414 between London Colney and Park Street, just after 6pm.

They freed the trapped woman and removed her from the car on a spinal board.

An ambulance happened to be driving past at the time of the collision and paramedics treated her for wrist, back and hip injuries before taking her to Watford General Hospital.

The driver and the front seat passenger were uninjured in the accident which temporarily closed the road.
