Park Street boy wins a starring role in CBeebies show

LITTLE Jimmy Donovan will be the envy of his schoolmates when he appears in a new CBeebies show this autumn.

The seven-year-old pupil at Park Street Primary School who belongs to Stagecoach Performing Arts School will be appearing in a new show Big City Park alongside a fellow Stagecoach pupil and several animated puppets.

Jimmy was selected by a director who approached Stagecoach and it is his first job in the professional acting world. The filming took place in Hemel Hempstead, and Jimmy had to pretend to play in the rain and show that playing outside in all weathers could be fun. As it was a very hot day, rain had to be created using giant hosepipes.

His mum Lisa Donovan said: “It took almost six hours to film the show. Jimmy is not usually an outgoing child but he absolutely loved doing the acting. He had to pretend to put on his wellies and mess about in the ‘rain’, and talk to the puppets!”
