HARPENDEN town council remains resolutely Conservative following the declaration of the parish council results this afternoon.
In all four wards, the Tories swept the board with every candidate polling more than a thousand votes and Mayor, Daniel Chichester-Miles, taking over two thousand votes in Harpenden West.
In London Colney, the three vacant parish council seats went to Labour although Conservative Dave Winstone missed out on one of them by only two votes following a recount.
And it was not all doom and gloom for the Lib Dems despite this morning’s district council results with Geoff Churchard way ahead of the field in the Marshalswick West ward of Sandridge parish council and Conservative Salih Gaygusuz, the victor in the district council’s Marshalswick South ward, failing to be elected on to the parish council.
