THE pair accused of murdering a man whose dismembered body was dumped in various locations across the country, including Wheathamp-stead, appeared in court this week.

Jeffrey Howe, 49, from Southgate, was stabbed before parts of his dismembered body were found in Leicestershire and Herts, including a forearm discovered in Drovers Lane, Wheathampstead, on March 28.

Stephen Marshall, 38, of Ayot Path in Borehamwood, and Sarah Bush, 20, of Pickard Close in London, were later arrested and have been charged with his murder.

The pair appeared via video link at St Albans Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing on Monday.

Marshall, the former owner of Fitness Connection in St Albans, pleaded not guilty to the indictment and his trial is scheduled for January. Bush did not enter a plea as an application has been made for charges against her to be dropped prior to her next court hearing.
