St Albans homeless charity Open Door has benefited from a £200 donation from cosmetics store Lush.

Customers to the Maltings shop helped raise the money by buying special pots of hand-made body cream last weekend.

Open Door’s chair, former St Albans MP Kerry Pollard, said: “We are hugely grateful to Lush, and their customers, for supporting an Open Door stall within their store.

“The people of St Albans have been very generous with all kinds of help in the 25 years since Open Door began offering meals and a bed to people who would otherwise have been sleeping rough.

Lush store supervisor Hollie Sterrett said: “As a company we want to help people who are working tirelessly to make the world a better place – we want play a useful part in the movement to create change.”
