A 900-year-old village church in Sandridge is inviting visitors to have a look around the historic building.

St Leonard’s Church is holding ‘open church’ afternoons on Sundays in August, between 2pm and 5pm. Visitors can have tea, coffee and cake while they admire the building.

The vicar, Rev Em Coley, said: “St Leonard’s is an active church with services on Sunday and during the week, and a range of other activities.

“We also conduct weddings, christenings and funerals through the year so many people with have family links with the church.

“We want to encourage as many people as possible to drop in. They can take a look inside the beautiful historic church, spend some time in quiet reflection or prayer, and enjoy some tea and cake.

“Everybody is welcome.”

In addition to the open afternoons, St Leonard’s is open throughout the week from 9am to 3pm.
