A FOUR-vehicle smash on the outskirts of Harpenden this morning (Wednesday) left one person injured.
It happened at around 9am on Lower Harpenden Road by the railway bridge at East Hyde but the road remained open throughout..
Police and paramedics arrived at the scene to find that a BMW, a Land Rover Freelander, a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Combo had been involved in the collision.
A Beds Police spokesperson said one person was injured but did not need to be taken to hospital and the BMW had to be removed from the scene as it could not be driven away.
There was already heavy traffic on local roads because of an earlier crash on the M1 north of Junction 6 which had caused heavy tailbacks.
