Oaklands College students are working together to create a video for first-time visitors to Verulamium Museum in St Albans.

Students from the college’s supported learning department are producing a video guide with information on the location of the museum and what to expect when you arrive.

The film, which will be ready by the new year, is being shot and edited by three of Oaklands’ foundation degree media students.

Work placement officer Rhys Wynne developed the project after delivering autism awareness training to the museum team. He said: “In Supported Learning we have a team now qualified to deliver autism awareness training to local employers and organisations, enabling greater understanding of the condition and ways in which their work environment can be adapted.

“Through this initial meeting, the project has evolved to be a great platform for these students to have a voice and raise awareness in the local community.”
