An Oaklands College student from St Albans is heading to Channel 4’s headquarters to pitch a digital campaign she helped create.
Hannah Godfrey, 18, from St Albans, and fellow student Mina Unal, 17, from Hitchin, have been shortlisted in the ‘Rise Up’ media awards for their campaign on the subject of tolerance and inclusivity.
The students, who both study A Level Media, came up with the ‘Walk a mile in my shoes’ web channel of short stories, starring people from the college, for digital media company Dentsu Aegis.
In the videos, the two girls interview people walking and talking about their experiences, thoughts and feelings while only their shoes are in the frame.
Hannah and Mina are one of 13 teams who will pitch their campaign to a panel of judges, including TV personality Reggie Yates. If the campaign is chosen, it could be developed further with posters and print adverts.
