The circulation of a online article has prompted rumours that a world-famous pop star is moving to St Albans.
Online ‘news’ outlet KUPR 7 NEWS has released an article suggesting that Miley Cyrus, of Hannah Montana fame, is leaving her LA home to move to St Albans.
The article reads: “In a huge surprise to everyone in Los Angeles, pop superstar Miley Cyrus reveals in a new interview that she is moving to the St Albans, England area. She tells the magazine that she is ‘tired of the L.A. lifestyle’ and is looking for a big change in life.”
It goes on to quote the singer: “I’ve been to St Albans, England a couple of times over the years and the people there are real, they’re genuine, and yeah every community has its problems but the people there are good, decent people and they care about their community.”
But despite the wide circulation of the article, it appears the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer is not moving to St Albans because the article is in fact false.
KUPR 7 NEWS states on its website: “KUPR 7 News is a fantasy news site. Most articles on kupr7.com are satire or pure fantasy.”
