The Rennie Grove Hospice Care Night of a Thousand Stars Gala Ball raised a sparkling £30,000 for the charity in celebration of providing 30 Years of Care for patients and families in the local community.
Nearly 200 people donned their finest to attend the fundraiser at the exclusive venue of The Grove in Chandler’s Cross recently.
Supporters were greeted at a Champagne reception with live music from trio, Jazz Confidential, and the opportunity to bid on a range of silent auction items.
After taking their seats in the ballroom and hearing about the care the charity provides for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illness and the support offered to their families, guests enjoyed a three course meal before bidding began on the main auction items.
Lots donated for auction on the night included a bespoke piece of diamond jewellery prvided by Galio jewellers, a number of luxury holidays and experiences and an original oil painting donated by Gallery Rouge.
Following the auction, live band The Jazz Dynamos took to the stage as guests danced the night away.
Director of fundraising and marketing Gillian Barnett said: “We would like to thank everyone who attended the Gala Ball or supported it by donating any of the fabulous auction items.
“We are delighted to have achieved the milestone of providing 30 Years of Care for local patients and families and it was fantastic to celebrate it by raising such a significant amount to fund more care.
“This level of support from people in the local community helps us face the next 30 years with confidence that we can continue to support the local families who will need us when diagnosed with cancer or another life-limiting illness.”
