A SMALL wood for the benefit of the St Albans community has been completed in the city after collaboration between a charity and a company.

Earthworks and Hemel Hempstead firm Rees Flooring put the finishing touches to the wood at Everlasting Lane in St Albans where a number of trees had already been planted by the University of Herts and the Camp School eco group.

The wood consists of 130 trees native to England, 10 of which are old Herts fruit varieties.

Rees Flooring partake in a community activity each year as part of their carbon offset initiative and Earthworks project leader Ann de Bock said: "All at Earthworks are happy to be involved in days where we can work with local companies for the good of the environment.

"We are particularly pleased that we can plant a variety of Herts trees."

Any company which would like to be involved in an Earthworks team building day should call the charity on 01727 847311 or visit the website www.earthworksstalbans.co.uk
