New sergeant sets out her priorities for St Albans

ST ALBANS: Reducing crime and anti-social behaviour will be the main focus of the city’s new Neighbourhood Sergeant.

Karen Lewis, 30 (pictured), took over her role last week from Sergeant Jamie Bartlett and now has responsibility for the officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) across five neighbourhoods in the city.

She has assured residents that the force will continue to be a visible presence around St Albans and that they will work hard to pro-actively tackle both crime and anti-social behaviour.

Having previously worked in the intervention unit for six years, responding to immediate response incidents within the St Albans district, Karen is looking forward to her new role: “I am really pleased to be joining such a strong team and am really looking forward to building on the work Jamie was doing in the city.

“I would like to encourage people that, should they have any concerns where they live about crime or anti-social behaviour, please get in touch with your neighbourhood officers or attend one of our surgeries so we can help.”
