LIONS taking pride in the success of their annual charity bookshop have new premises this year.

Harpenden Lions have been running their bookshop for over 30 years using shop premises that are temporarily vacant.

This year it has opened at the former Ethos Hair & Beauty at Church Green Row, opposite St Nicholas JMI, where it will remain until December 23. Opening times are 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. Additionally the shop will open from 10am to 4pm on Sundays, December 16 and 23.

Proceeds go to local, national and international Lions charities. While the club has stored up donated books throughout the year and has a good stock already, it is encouraging everyone to bring unwanted books and other items to the shop.

Anyone who would like some help with transporting donated books call the Harpenden Lions helpline on 0845 833 7426 or email info@harpenden-lions.co.uk

n Harpenden Lions will be carrying out a charity tin shake in Harpenden and Southdown this Saturday. Volunteers will be at various locations collecting funds for Changing Faces, a charity that assists people and families whose lives are affected by conditions, marks or scars that alter their appearance.
