The current deputy mayor of Harpenden is taking over the top job as part of a mayoral merry-go-round.
Town and district councillor Daniel Chichester-Miles will replace Rosemary Farmer after the nomination was agreed by the council at its meeting last week.
And completing the merry-go-round former mayor, Cllr Pat Kent, was also nominated as deputy town mayor.
Both will be officially elected at the annual meeting in Park Hall at 7.30pm on May 17.
