Potential designs for the proposed new health facility in Harpenden will be available for members of the public to browse at the town’s memorial hospital this Saturday. (17)

The open afternoon, hosted by the Herts Community NHs Trust, runs from 2pm to 5pm and members of staff involved in the development will be on hand to answer questions.

The trust is planning to purchase The Stewarts on the hospital site in Carlton Road and redevelop the building to provide a range of clinical and therapy rooms for children and adults.

They will include a range of children’s services including baby and post-natal clinics and adult services such as bladder and bowel care, a diabetes service, a Parkinson’s specialist nurse service, podiatry and retinal screening.

The remainder of the site will be sold off to pay for the new facility.
