Designed by Amanda Griffiths, owner and manager of Monkey Puzzle St Albans, it aims to bring the outdoors inside and make learning fun.

The bespoke design features an outside stream with fish, bugs, wild grass and flowers hiding among logs and wooden bridges. It is sealed beneath a hard-wearing surface to allow hours of play by youngsters in the pre-school room.

Amanda explained: “The floor was custom designed to my specifications so there is not another one on the world, it is truly one of a kind.

“The result is stunning to the delight of the children who have been exploring every inch with magnifying glasses. We have heard squeals of excitement as the children have found a ladybird or worm tucked under a stone. They have been tip-toeing across the bridge and holding hands as they cross the logs.”
