A vandalised information board at a busy crossing point on the Nickey Line has been replaced.
The damage to the board at the Roundwood crossing point in Harpenden was caused earlier this year and required substantial repair work.
The Joinery Workshop, part of the Harpenden-based Jarvis Group, decided to make an entirely new one in oak and donated their work to the Friends of the Nickey Line, charging only material costs. Harpenden Town Council helped to insert the new board.
Friends of the Nickey Line chairman, Dave Abernethy, said: “The new information board looks brilliant. We are very grateful to The Joinery Workshop for their great work and for generously donating their time to us. We also wish to thank Harpenden Town Council for their support.”
