The death of a young stab victim has seen the community to come together to raise funds for his funeral.

Nearly £6,000 has been raised for the funeral of 20-year-old Emille Stapleton, who died in hospital on Saturday (24) following an altercation on London Road, St Albans.

A JustGiving page was set up by a friend of Emille’s brother, and initially aimed to raise £1,000, but the current total now stands at £5,925.

The man who set the page and wishes to remain anonymous said: “I am lost for words right now. Thank you so so so so much, words cant express how thankful we all are.

“Thank you once again. It just shows there are some good people out there and once again thank you for the donations, the family have said they are over the moon and they can now give their son the service he deserves.”
