A CHISWELL Green man arrested on suspicion of the murder of missing Murray Thompson from St Albans has been released.

The 57-year-old man answered police bail on Monday and was told that no further action was being taken against him.

But four other men - three from Watford and one from Rickmansworth - also arrested on suspicion of murder and another man from Watford arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and conspiracy to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a body remain on police bail until the beginning of March.

Murray, 35, who lived in St Peter’s Street, disappeared last April and despite heartfelt pleas from his family and the offer of a substantial reward for information about his whereabouts, he has never been found.

His distinctive work van was seen in Watford around the time he disappeared and was later found in Bushey. Police also discovered that he had visited a flat in Albans Road, Watford, prior to his disappearance.

Police are still appealing for information about Murray’s disappearance and anyone who can help is asked to contact the non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222.
