A crash involving multiple vehicles has ground traffic to a halt on the M1 this evening.
Three of four lanes are closed between southbound junctions 9 and 8 and there are currently 50 minute delays for drivers travelling towards St Albans.
The incident is not expected to clear before 11.45pm.
Police and ambulances are currently on the scene working to clear the incident.
