A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital this morning (Wednesday) after a collision with a car on a busy St Albans road.

The incident occurred at 8.15am on London Road opposite Approach Road. Police moved the damaged motorbike to the side of the road and the carriageway remained open to traffic.

The driver of the car, a blue Vauxhall Corsa, was uninjured although shaken by the accident. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure but he was not believed to have serious injuries.
