TRAFFIC chaos through Park Street and Radlett this morning (Wednesday) was the result of a road closure enforced due to the icy conditions.
Watling Street is closed both ways between the junctions with Harper Lane and the Aldenham Road junction in Radlett, causing tailbacks all the way to the Park Street roundabout and onto the A414.
A spokesperson for Herts Highways said that the police ordered the road closure as water was affecting a nearby electricity sub-station.
The road is believed to have been reopened but Herts Police have so far been unable to provide any details about the incident.
Earlier this morning the main A1081 between St Albans and Harpenden was closed due to ice on a flooded part of the carriageway by the Childwickbury estate.
