RAIL bosses will be swapping their suits for sportswear when they take part in First Capital Connect's Mini Monster sporting event in May.
FCC is holding the Mini Monster, a family-friendly run and bike team event, at Verulamium Park on Sunday, May 18.
It was launched at City Station with support from local staff and St Albans City Youth Football Clubs.
The Mini Monster, which is to raise money for charity, is suitable for all ages regardless of fitness or experience. Competitors will have a choice of two events: the first will see each competitor either run 3km or cycle 10km and in the second, aimed at families, participants will either run 1.5km or cycle 5km.
For both races, competitors will be in teams of four with each team member expected to complete one leg of the fourlegged events. The winning team of either event will be offered free entry to the main First Monster Challenge event in Inverness in September.
FCC is hoping that many customers and staff will take part and managing director Elaine Holt said: "I am delighted to be taking part in a team with three other directors from First Capital Connect. We're encouraging teams to raise money for our charity partners, Save the Children. It promises to be a real occasion for the family and a fantastic and fun excuse to get out of the house and do some exercise."
To register or get more information go to www.firstmonster.co.uk
Entry is £5 per person and half the entry fee will go direct to Save the Children.
