On June 2 2016 we published an article called ‘Have planners been manipulated over unauthorised homes scheme?’ It alleged that Michael Rubinow, a property developer who is based in Hertfordshire, had built an unauthorised development of 18 apartments and a shop in Goldring Way, London Colney, without planning permission. It also suggested that he had manipulated the district council’s planning department.
Neither allegation was true.
We are happy to confirm that Mr Rubinow did in fact have proper planning permission for the development which was built by him in Goldring Way and that he did not act improperly in any respect.
We are happy to set the record straight and to apologise to Mr Rubinow. We have also agreed to pay him substantial damages.
