Several men were arrested after they were spotted getting out of the back off a lorry on the M1 near Redbourn this morning.
A police spokeswoman said the men were then seen heading towards the village from Dunstable Road at around 8am.
They are currently being detained in Watford and the case has been handed over to the UK Border Agency’s immigration department.
A spokesperson for the Home Office confirmed a group of men were arrested but were unable to confirm exact numbers as the case is ongoing.
