Men charged with St Albans handbag theft

THREE men have been charged with the theft of a handbag from an unlocked vehicle parked in a St Albans road.

A total of seven people were arrested following the theft in Artisan Crescent and an eighth person was arrested for handling late last month.

Stefan Jakeman, 18, and Peter Freuen, 19, both from Green Lane in St Albans and Daniel Frame, 28, of no fixed abode, have been arrested and charged. Frame is currently in police custody and Jakeman has been remanded in custody until July 22. Freuen was remanded in custody and released with bail conditions.

Also arrested was a 38-year-old woman who was released on police bail until July 27 and the three other people arrested were released without charge.
