EIGHTEEN new affordable homes in St Albans have been completed and officially opened by the Mayor.
Developed by Hightown Praetorian and Churches Housing Association (Hightown), the six two-bedroom flats and twelve one-bedroom flats were officially opened in Dellfield last month.
The project began earlier this year and involved redeveloping Laelia House, which had previously provided sheltered accommodation in 19 bedsits.
At the opening, the Mayor said: “I am delighted to know that this week, 18 local households will move into these much needed new, affordable homes. I am really, really pleased that Hightown took this building on and in just seven months have redeveloped the old bedsits into good sized one- and two-bedroom flats.”
The 1.8 million scheme was funded in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency.
